We aren’t open yet, but if we were you can bet GameMeisters would be your spot to celebrate Free RPG day. The closest stores that are participating are in Bennington and West Leb.
What is Free RPG Day? Here’s the quote from their site www.freerpgday.com
Free RPG Day is a day for you to go to your local participating retailer to play new games and get free stuff.
Every retailer has their own version of Free RPG Day, each running the games they want to run.
What they all have in common is free stuff donated to them by all your favorite publishers. It’s a day to play games celebrate the hobby and play games.
We have to miss this year, but keep an eye out June 15, 2014. We’ll have in store events. I might even dust off my Traveller set.
The polls are open in the forums (Click the Forums button in the menu bar). Go to the forums, register, and then vote for our first family feature and feature game. If you want to help pick our very first featured games headed on over and vote.
The winners will be the featured game and the family feature on opening day.
The setup continues. We have got our Forums, Facebook, Twitter, and this main page up and running. A few minor thematic things need tweaking, but for the most part the heavy lifting in the on-line space is done. Now we just need to finish the heavy lifting with the store site, financials, and get open…
Gamemeisters makes a few games available for play by anyone on a first come first serve basis. These are our Featured Games that let customers try out a game before they buy it. The featured games will rotate every so often, so if you try Ticket to Ride but don’t love it in a few weeks something else will be featured and you’ll be able to try something new.
There will always be at least two featured games.
The Family Feature is a family-friendly game. These games have approachable themes. They are something that the whole family might enjoy and with easy to understand rules. Games that you may find on the Family Feature table include: Ticket to Ride, Quarriors, Fluxx, Pirates Cove, Agricola, and Shadows Over Camelot.
The Featured Game is something that will appeal to more experienced gamers. These games may have scarier or more grown-up themes and more complicated rules. Featured Games might include: Arkham Horror, Chez Geek, Elder Sign, Merchants & Marauders, and Powergrid.
The featured games will be posted on the front page of the web site and announced in the store. If you’d like to suggest a featured game head over to the discussion forums and let us know what you think.
We are just starting up. So the facebook, twitter, and web site are being built and tuned over the next few days. Don’t be surprised to see the site go off-line or to see things radically change.
